TELOUET & AIT BENHADDOU DAY TRIP FROM MARRAKECH

After enjoying breakfast at your hotel or road in Marrakech, your private driver will pick you up at 8:00 a.m. for an unforgettable day trip . We’ll begin by traversing the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260 m), the highest pass in North Africa.

Subsequently, we’ll follow a secondary road leading to the Telouet castle, situated in the heart of the Atlas Mountains. This impressive castle, despite its crumbling state, has undergone restoration. The wealthy Glawi family, who controlled the former caravan route linking Marrakech with the Sahara Desert , constructed it.

Continuing our journey, we’ll head towards the dramatic Ait Benhaddou Village, renowned for its many Kasbahs (fortresses) that exemplify southern architecture. This village once thrived as a vital commercial center along the ancient caravan route and has served as a backdrop for numerous Hollywood films, including Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, and Prince of Persia. You’ll enjoy a guided walking tour of the Kasbah, delving into its architecture and rich history.

Following a delicious lunch, we’ll drive back to Marrakech through the Atlas Mountains, arriving in the evening.
